Fresh Roe On King Scallops (Pecten maximus)


Our King scallops come from all around the United Kingdom.


The Irish Sea season is open from November to May, and we also have boats that land to us on the south coast.


We meet the boats at the quayside and deliver the catch back to the factory where the process of washing, shucking and packing occurs immediately.


Again, they are processed by hand, to preserve the quality and taste of this highly prized shellfish.


They are a great favourite with professional chefs and amateur cooks alike. The meat is of a sweet flavour, but a substantial meaty texture, and may be eaten with or without the brightly coloured roe.
